It is nothing short of amazing to see the depths whitetail hunters will go through to improve not only the health of their deer herd but to give their bucks every opportunity to grow BIG, tall tines. The formula to grow big deer isn’t complicated and the secret sauce lies in these three key areas:
You can’t do very much about #1 but depending on where you hunt, you do have the ability to influence steps 2 and 3 by letting little deer walk and providing the right mix of nutrients to your herd at the time of the year they need it most. For example, we see a lot of folks work hard in the summer to put in Fall food plots but what about that time of year when rut-weary bucks have dropped their antlers? This is the time to give your bucks the nutrition they need to maximize their genetic potential. If you wait until
The same can be said for maximizing your genetic potential. If you are reading this article there is a great chance that:
A. You hunt whitetail deer (or are a hunter in general)
If you are preparing for a Fall hunt this next bit of info is crucial to building muscle, maximizing fat loss and recovery. You have to re-fuel post workout and you have a finite amount of time to put nutrition back into your body to maximize your genetic potential. Not sure what this means? Check out the latest edition of Fit To Hunt TV:
There are a lot of nutritional strategies you can employ to maximize your results but the #1 way to ensure you are getting the most out of your time in the gym is to get the right mix of nutrients 30-60 minutes post workout. Failure to do so is exactly like putting in Fall food plots after your deer herd’s antlers are already developed; it’s ineffective and a missed opportunity. In fact, as personal trainers who help hunters prepare for a variety of different hunts, not refueling post workout is one of the biggest mistakes we see being made that hinders both fat loss, muscle growth and overall performance.

When we started Fit To Hunt back in December of 2014, we really weren’t sure what this business would look like. All we knew was that as outdoorsman, personal trainers, family men and fitness nuts, we had to combine these passions because it would allow us to live a life that would let us serve others and get us in the outdoors more often.
We knew we would personal train clients to prepare for their outdoor adventures and we knew that we wanted to offer high quality products to compliment the fitness services we provided. Items like t-shirts, hats, nutritional supplements and other things that would sport our logo and philosophy to grow the Fit To Hunt Tribe. We explored television. What we quickly learned is the outdoor industry with regards to hosting a television show wasn’t what most think it is. And as a part time venture, the door was shut on that idea. Or was it?
A few years ago a colleague of mine came out with a concept where he produced low budget group exercise videos from his back yard and sold them on his website. He didn’t once try to hide the fact his videos were not television studio quality and in fact, reveled in the idea that it wasn’t about lighting or sound. It was about him getting his knowledge, motivation and inspiration into the hands of people whom he could help. One afternoon I was sitting around pondering something cool we could add to the
How many of these will we produce? That depends on us. The quality may be low but the experience is real. We might have 12 episodes in 2016 or we might have three. The point is to create content that is informative, entertaining and motivating; content that will enhance your performance and costs you nothing in the process other than a few moments of your time.
As we produce more episodes we will look to bring more experiences from the outdoors such as deer, duck and turkey hunting and combine them with fitness, nutrition and performance concepts that will enhance your own outdoor pursuits. We will bring in experts from both our pro staff and the outdoor community to expand upon our own knowledge base and give you access to some of the most colorful personalities we have had the pleasure of interacting with over the years in both the fitness and outdoor
So sit back, play the link above and enjoy. The videos aren’t perfect but promise they will get better. We simply appreciate the fact you believe in what we do and will allow us to help you get and stay Fit To Hunt.
